Mike,

    Your sane.  From Metalink:

  • fact: Oracle Application Object Library 11.5.4
  • fact: AIX 4.3.3 Based Systems (64-bit)
  • symptom: Patch fails with error ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("APPLSYS"."AD_APPLIED_PATCHES"."PATCH_NAME")
  • symptom: Error while inserting into AD_APPLIED_PATCHES.
  • symptom: Error in calling adphistCreatePatchMastObj().
  • symptom: Error in calling adphistCreateAppliedPatch().
  • symptom: Error while uploading patches into the database
  • symptom: Encountered errors while uploading information from applptch.txt into the database!
  • symptom: Renaming file '/devtr11i/devtappl/admin/DEVT/applptch.txt' to '/devtr11i/devtappl/admin/DEVT/applptch_fail_101403081634.txt'...
  • change: Applying Patch 2408149.
  • cause: <Bug:2679427>. The version of adphist.lpc is lower than 115.77
  • cause: The corrupted applptch.txt. It contained the entry like "begin aru db", "alr_help" which is not in a standard format and it gave an error while inserting the patch history information in AD_APPLIED_PATCHES table.

At least now you know where he got the name from!!

It is a Oracle 11i table, and APPLSYS is an Oracle11i  schema.

Your auditor needs to read the documentation for Oracle8i and Oracle E-Business Suite 11i before he demands what you can't possibly deliver... or better yet, give him access to an id with select any table rights and have him find it.

Subject: AD_APPLIED_PATCHES

I am running an Oracle 8.1.7.3 database and have an auditor who is requesting that I produce a listing of all the rows in the table APPLYSY.AD_APPLIED_PATCHES. The problem I have is that table doesn't exist. We do NOT have Oracle applications and I believe that this is a table that comes with Oracle Apps 11i.

The auditor is insistent that the table should be there and is wondering what I'm trying to hide. If you can confirm this is an Oracle Apps table for me or let me know what I should run if it is just a script that I should have run that I missed.

All replies will remain confidential; I'm just trying to verify my sanity.

Thanks - Mike
